I too would like to know the end of the story, but here is what I think may have happened….
….However, Zhang managed to cling to her dignity. Unfortunately she let go of the umbrella. Had she not been wearing industrial cami knickers the ensuing events may have resulted in an unforgivable scandal.
Zhang was wearing a voluminous skirt of a considerably more rigorous construction than the average Western skirt. Of course this billowed up and kept her safely aloft; so safely that not only was she saved from certain death, but she actually floated upwards, right into the path of a passing flock of geese. Impaled upon a now temporarily blinded goose, she was transported across the South China sea to a tiny uncharted island where the goose finally managed to disentagle itself from her skirts, leaving her to spiral gently downwards onto the beach.
On the beach she met a turtle who introduced himself as the governor of the island. He welcomed her cordially to the island and invited her to dinner at the governor’s palace. Zhang was delighted but very concerned that she had nothing appropriate to wear. Just at that moment a crate washed up on the beach. The turtle smiled and suggested Zhang investigate the crate whilst he went back to the palace to make preparations for the dinner.
Now you are probably thinking that the crate happened to contain a consignment of party dresses which had just fallen off the back of container ship, just as you probably thought that the umbrella opened and saved Zhang from falling to her death from the 6 storey building. But you were wrong then and you are wrong now. The crate conatined a hungry crocodile which duly ate Zhang.
The moral of this story is, you can only ride your luck so far. If you want to be sure, stay in bed.
